Nowadays the designs of home elevators are very decent and beautiful. It has number of controls and buttons. All of which are very necessary and also a standard button set.

All of the elevators, whether home or commercial elevators, have floor buttons. These buttons are used to select the floor. Then there are buttons to open and close the door. To stop the elevator there is a stop witch. If there is any danger of fire or any other thing the alarm button can be used to alarm the other family members.

In elevators there are some special controls which are not found in every home elevator. There is a telephone in commercial elevators for calling for help. But they have no use in residential elevator. Alarm button is enough for it. In some elevators there is a fire button. This button takes the elevator in a mode of firefighter.  Then there is a medical switch which is used to help medical persons.

To keep the doors open during loading and unloading there is a hold button. There are light switches to control the mechanism of lighting. To move the elevator up or down, there are up and down buttons. In home elevator the up and down buttons are typically places inside and in commercial elevators they are placed outside of the elevator.

In commercial elevators, there is a very good facility. During peak hours the elevators work as per the schedule. But during off peak hours they can be made to move between the floors which have more movement up and down than other ones.
